I didn’t spend 5 months on this poem

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

…BOO!

I am back! And I am sorry for being gone. I have written a poem to explain my absence as well I can. (Enjoy the poem!).

I thought we had a connection (but that connection was lost)

It is all true but now I am “back on the net” as footballers often say. Something like that anyway. I will update with what I’ve been up to and reply to all your e-mails and messages soon (within the next five months… lol I’m kidding)… (“just kidding” in that it will be sooner than that – not that I will never update!). : )

I've tried that

Quickly while I remember: thank you everyone who has entered the second crossword competition so far! For those of you who haven’t entered then you still have a couple of days to have a go! :)

On with the update!

I was lying in bed last night thinking about what to have for breakfast in the morning. The choice was toast, a banana, yoghurt or cereal. Needless to say, I couldn’t sleep! In the end I had to go on my Facebook page and ask people to tell me boring stories to send me to sleep. I got as far as Francesca who said,

I didn’t go to school today because I had laundry done.

(thanks Francesca!) but it was almost 3am by then so I was still very tired in the morning. If you are still awake here is what happened!

The day after the night Peter Peel couldn't sleep comic!

I will sleep well tonight :) Also, in case you were wondering, I had a banana and a cup of tea!

Mr Pigeon, with just one toe

Friday, July 9th, 2010

It was slightly sunny yesterday so on my break I bought a sandwich, some miniature cheese biscuits, and a bottle of cola – all for £2.07: I do a good thing where my supervisor says, “You can go on your break now” and I say, “I’ll just finish reducing these sandwiches!” and then it looks like I’m dedicated to working hard AND I get a reduced price sandwich. Anyway, I went to the park and was eating when suddenly I saw this little fellow:

A pigeon

You’re probably thinking, “it’s a pigeon, Peter!” and you’re right – in fact that’s exactly what I thought when I saw him – but have a closer look…

A pigeon with only one toe

It was a one toed pigeon. It had a stump, and then another stump with a toe sticking out of it. I immediately felt sad because he probably couldn’t understand why he couldn’t perch as well other pigeons so I wrote him this poem:

Mr Pigeon with just one toe poem

The picture at the end is him with one of my miniature cheese biscuits I gave him in case the poem didn’t cheer him up enough.

Oh! Not too bad if you consider…

This isn’t the same old lady as the other comic but it’s hard to draw an old lady with a blue rinse perm who looks different from another old lady who has a blue rinse perm so you will have to imagine they are different people :)

Peter Peel's scariest customer #1

Her basket total was £6.66 and she paid with the EXACT CHANGE.

It was a bit like that bit in Harry Potter where Professor Trelawney goes all weird and predicts the future. I don’t think she was predicting the future though, she was just mistaken most likely. I find it strange that she was once a normal girl who boys probably used to fancy in school at one point. Unless she went to an all girls school in which case maybe one of the girls did. That kind of thing was frowned upon back then though I think. I hope I never end up scary like her. From now on I will add my basket total up as I go along and buy a Freddo Frog or a Curly Wurly or something if it comes to £6.66.

Fifteen minutes of fame!

I decided my hitcounter must be broken because no-one was visiting my website and so I investigated a little and it turned out that it was actually broken, phew! Paranoia 0 – Peter Peel 1! Sadly when I fixed it it was still only reading one a day (hi mum!) but suddenly last week: WOOMF! I thought for a moment it must be broken again because the numbers went up to almost higher than I can count, and certainly higher than a number I will ever live in years! However it turns out my video was put on the front page of Newgrounds (hi Newgrounds!) so thank you to whoever put it there.

I’m sure I will put more videos up soon. In the meantime you can read about crosswords on the blog or watch my first video again :) I have an important announcement to make tomorrow so make sure you check back!

Peter Peel - episode 1: can, can, can't

Peter Peel’s crosswords #1

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

I love crosswords but I’m not very good at them. I don’t think I have ever finished one without phoning my parents or another old person who has a better list of words that they know vocabulary. Last night was no exception and it was too late to phone anyone old; I couldn’t sleep because of it. What I thought I do is make my own to help send me to sleep and then, because I’d made it surely I would be able to do it at a later date after I’d forgotten I’d made it. I’m going to leave it somewhere I wont look for several months (like the salad drawer in the fridge).

I’ve decided to put it on my blog so that other people can do it too. In fact, because I’m feeling so pleased with myself, if you complete it and send it back to be I will write a poem for you (if you are the first person to send it back).

Here it is… good luck!

It’s Raining Outside (or is it?) – a poem.

Monday, June 7th, 2010

It was raining outside and I didn’t want to go outside and get wet so I stayed inside and wrote this poem…

It’s the first time I’ve written a poem since school and I’m really quite pleased with it. I think it’s one of those things where when you don’t do something for a long time but in the back of your mind you are doing it or thinking about it; in this case it’s poetry but it could be anything. I remember when I was little and I was playing Wario on the GameBoy colour and I couldn’t do a boss one evening and I went to bed. When I woke up in the morning I managed to do the boss first time. During my sleep I had prepared my mind subconsciously.

It was actually raining all day I just used my imagination a bit for the last, what they call in poetry, stanza.

For reading this far I’d like to reward you with an extra stanza (look it up if you don’t know what one of those is!). It would come after the third stanza:

Even if I had an umbrella I’d,
get wet if I went out not matter how hard I…
tried.

Floating my till

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Today my till at work was 5p up. The highest my till has ever been up is 72p. The lowest it’s ever been down is 49p. I don’t think that’s bad going. I always wonder what would happen if it were £20 out. At the beginning of my shift they always say you have £30 in your till but I don’t count it. So if I were a crook supervisor I’d say, “There’s £30 in your till” when really there was £25. Now I’ve picked a deliberately even number so that if it’s down £5 I could say, “Empty your pockets, stickyfingers!” and if they had a £5 note in them I could say, “Hey stickyfingers, care to explain this?” and they’d have to hand it over or lose their job.

I once found £10 on the floor in the shop. I said to my manager at the time that I’d found it and she said, “We’d best keep that out back in case someone comes back for it”. When I came back the next week she said, “O, yeah someone came back for it”. But I don’t believe them. Anyone could walk into a shop and say, “You haven’t found £10 on the floor have you? It was mine you see”. Well you could actually and you’d probably make a good living from it. At my expense.

Hello world

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

Hello. I finished my website. It’s going to be my blog about my day to day happenings. My name’s Peter and I work in a convenience store. It’s not really want I want to be doing with my life – I would rather be a professional footballer, I’m just not good enough. Three keepy-uppies is about my record, and to be fair, I’m not a runner.

Anyway, when you work in a convenience store you don’t get paid much and so much of my life is based around cheap activities like sitting in and playing games, sitting in and watching TV, and sitting in sitting down. Additionally, because of the nature of my work, my soul has been somewhat destroyed.

Enough about that though. I am going to try and keep a somewhat regular record of my life. Here is day 1:

Today it was so bright and sunny outside that I had to shut the curtains to see the TV.

Welcome
My name is Peter Peel and I love having a website.

Please do read my blog and enjoy the animated episodes from my ongoing life here.
